John Waddington is an abstract landscape artist living and working in the North East of England. Educated in Graphic Design and Advertising John has always had an interest in visual language and the ability to communicate complex messages through expressive mark making. In recent years this has seen him take a fine art approach to these explorations and his first exhibition of work ‘Glue’ explores, through the use of experimental mixed media, the ever changing and diverse landscape of his home region and its industrial coastline.
“My work begins with a technique, a thumbnail sketch and a preconceived idea. This idea develops through the overlaying of paint, glue and bitumen - like nature evolving and adpating to the elements that it surrounds. Through this process the image will transcend, take new directions or fade and disappear like nature itself”
John will be further exhibiting his ‘Glue’ Series throughout the North East of England.
